Review Pilgrim-Misery Wizard

The new release on Metal Blade Records by this doom slug power trio from Rhode Island known as Pilgrim is the real deal for doom devotee's. With three of the six songs clocking in @ over 10 minutes each, it'll suck you in to the Sabbath/Candlemass vortex and make you shoe gazing happy headbanger. Did I say it was Slow? Drummer Krolg, The Slayer Of Men could probably roll a doobie and smoke it between beats, it is slow but captivating and thoroughly enjoyable.
The voice of The Wizard guitar and vocals is clean without being wimpy and understanable without a lyric sheet. It picks up a little on "Adventurer" with a bit of a Children Of The Grave chugga, then pulls you back into the tar pits with the final epic track "Forsaken Man". Very impressive, highly recommended.
