Commented guitarist Gary Holt: "We decided to give everybody another taste of the new record… and it's about one of America's favorite pastimes, the school shooting. This song was primarily inspired by the massacre at Virginia Tech, as well as Columbine and the many other instances of unhinged individuals who decided to take out their wrath on their classmates, going all the way back to [University of Texas at Austin’s 1966 tower sniper] Charles J. Whitman."

EXODUS filmed a video for the track "Downfall" on April 1 in Los Angeles. The clip was directed by Jon Schnepp, who was the creative force behind the band's "Riot Act" video. He is also known for his work on "Metalocalypse" (the animated program about DETHKLOK, the world's most popular death metal band) on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.

"Exhibit B: The Human Condition" was recorded this past December in Northern California with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY, KREATOR).

EXODUS recently took part in the "Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary Tour" with MEGADETH and TESTAMENT.

New York, NY - ANEW REVOLUTION will be hitting the road on the "Economic Stimulus Tour" along side Poughkeepsie New York's SUGAR RED DRIVE. Whether it be by hiring local crew or promotion outlets, or just bringing people into the venue to in turn the spend some money to see a good show and maybe buy some merch." says bassist Frank Salvaggio.

One of the main focuses of this tour is to create at least 2 real jobs the day of the show by hiring 2 part-time workers to help with load-in, set up, and local transportation for the bands. Salvaggio continues, "We're also showing that even a modest touring band has to do whatever it takes to survive in these tough economic times."

ANEW REVOLUTION also plan on keeping the ticket prices at a lower than average price of just $10 as well as donating 50% of the ticket proceeds to a local, not national, charitable cause. Type O Negative’s Peter Steele Reported Dead (1962-2010)

It was reported late last night that Type O Negative vocalist/bassist Peter Steele passed away from heart failure earlier in the day (April 14). While at first there was no official statement released by the band’s management or any other close sources, many close friends have revealed the rumors to be true.

Fuse TV’s Mistress Juliya stated via Twitter that Steele “past of heart failure today. Just spoke to Kenny” (referring to Type O Negative guitarist Kenny Hickey). Revolver Magazine’s editor-in-chief Brandon Geist revealed similar news on his Twitter page, saying “Hoping [the rumors] are not true, but the source is good.” In 2005, Steele joked of his death by posting a picture of a tombstone that read “Peter Steele – 1962 – 2005 …. Free At Last” on the band’s website. However, Type O Negative keyboardist Josh Silver has confirmed to Blabbermouth.net early this morning that Steele has passed away, though an official cause of death has not yet been released. Steele, born Petrus T. Ratajczyk, was 48 years.

Though Steele played in metal groups like Fallout and Carnivore, he was best known for his role in Type O Negative. Formed in 1990, the Brooklyn band became a heavy contributor to the gothic metal genre, mixing thrash and doom metal to create a unique sound. Their sophomore album, Bloody Kisses, was the first album for Roadrunner Records to go platinum, with the single “Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare-All)” gaining an enormous amount of radio airplay. Their most recent album, Dead Again, was released in 2007 and debuted at #27 on the Billboard charts. Steele’s low bass heavy voice was one of the key attributes to the band’s dark sound that helped further define goth metal.
